Histon and Impington Feast Week is an annual celebration during which the villages raise money for the local community.
Histon Feast AGM
The Feast Annual General Meeting will be on Thursday 30th January from 8pm at Histon and Impington Recreation Ground Pavilion. All welcome to find out about planning for 2025.
Histon & Impington Feast Grant Funding
The Feast Committee wants to be able to support local groups, organisations, and charities by sharing the funds raised through the generosity of the village during Feast Week.
So if you’re a local group, organization or charity and need funding, then read the application form carefully and if you meet the criteria then please apply. Applications close at Midday on Sunday 9 March.
You can fill in the electronic version of the application form or you can download a word version.
2025 Feast Plans
This year’s Feast Week will see a return of the Village Festival, similar to that in 2023, on Sunday 29 June when the High Street will be closed to traffic and filled with stalls and attractions. See the coverage of the 2025 plans in HI HUB https://www.hihub.info/news/feast-week-2025-gets-back-in-the-community/
2024 Feast
In 2024, Histon and Impington Feast raised nearly £5,000, including a generous donation from Open Gardens, despite a rain affected Feast Week. This meant that we were able to provide funding to the following local organisations:
- Camtrust – improvements and insulation of bike refurbishment workshops
- Hope Again Bereavement Support – contribution to running meetings
- Histon Cricket Club – electronic scoreboards and maintenance to score hut
- Histon & Impington Brook Primary School – a permanent outdoor play area for Early Years
- Histon & Impington Hedgehog Champions – equipment for making gardens hedgehog friendly
- 1st Histon Scout Group – canoes and trailer
- Histon Bowls Club – equipment and promotional material
- Cambridge Acorn Project – panoramic support for child victims of abuse and trauma
- Blue Smile – mental health support at Brook Primary School
- Histon Methodist Church – refurbishment of toilets
- Histon Howlers Junior Netball Club – establishment of a new Year 6 team
- Histon & Impington Bicycle Club – gazebo for club and community events
- Firs House Patient Participation Group – community health events
- Histon Scouts – establishment of Squirrels section for 4-6 year olds
We’re starting to plan next years Feast Week and hope to be able to run the Festival event on the High Street. If you have any ideas or your organisation wants to get involved in any aspect of Feast Week, please contact Steve an email – stevecox.histon@gmail.com
